Our Worship

We gather for worship each Sunday at 10:15am. Our church is located at 325 Church Lane Sewickley, Pa 15143 - scroll down for the Google Maps link. There's plentiful parking available on the north side of the street (the side where the church sits). We are incredibly blessed to have the historic Shields Chapel as our home - a gothic style church built from local sandstone in 1868.

As you enter you'll be greeted by an usher who'll make sure you get a service leaflet, which has everything you need to follow along. Our worship is liturgical, which means it follows a set pattern each week, centered around Good News of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection and made tangible to us through Scripture, preaching, and the celebration of Holy Communion. The patterns and specific prayers used in our worship come from the Book of Common Prayer - find out more about that stuff here.

We have a dedicated choir and an immensely talented choir leader/organist. The priest and other ministers wear vestments during the service, and everyone has a part to play. Our aim each week is to worship God Almighty in a way that is at once hospitable and welcoming while remaining ancient and reverent. You can find out a little more about why we worship the way we do here, but the best way to get a sense of our community is simply to join us for worship! There’s a place for you here. All are welcome. All are invited.
